Here’s a delightfully simple Easy 3-Ingredient Sausage & Cream Cheese Casserole that’s rich, savory, and perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a quick dinner.
Easy 3-Ingredient Sausage & Cream Cheese Casserole
Ingredients
-
1 lb bulk breakfast sausage (mild, spicy, or sage-flavored)
-
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened and cubed
-
1 (8 oz) can refrigerated crescent roll dough (or 1 package crescent roll sheet)
Optional Additions:
-
¼ teaspoon black pepper or red pepper flakes
-
1 tablespoon chopped chives or parsley for garnish
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease an 8×8-inch or similar small baking dish.
-
In a skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage, breaking it into crumbles until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
-
Reduce heat to low. Add the cubed cream cheese to the warm sausage and stir until melted and fully combined. If using pepper or other seasonings, stir them in now.
-
Unroll the crescent roll dough. If using perforated triangles, press the seams together to form a single sheet.
-
Press the dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, stretching slightly to cover the bottom.
-
Spread the sausage and cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough.
-
Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the crescent crust is golden brown.
-
Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Garnish with chives or parsley if desired.
Tips
-
For a bit more flavor, try adding a pinch of garlic powder or onion powder to the sausage while cooking.
-
If using crescent roll sheet, you won’t have seams to press together — just lay it in the dish.
-
This dish is delicious served warm with a side of scrambled eggs or fresh fruit for brunch.
-
Leftovers reheat well in the oven or microwave for a few days.
Enjoy your effortlessly tasty casserole! 🥘
